Pioneering a new heart valve design
Wheatley Research Limited is dedicated to co-ordinating inputs from multiple disciplines into the design and manufacture of a novel synthetic-leaflet prosthetic heart valve.
The design is intended to overcome the problems that have plagued synthetic heart valves in the past. The valve is intended for use in the aortic and mitral positions, at any age, and without the requirement for long-term anti-platelet or anticoagulant therapy.
We have a novel design based on considerations of the natural flow conditions in the heart and ascending aorta. Manufacture of this valve has been thoroughly researched and a technique has been developed that is suitable for reproducible, accurate and cost-effective assembly.
Are you the right partner?
We are now in a position to seek a suitable arrangement with a partner, or partners, in an academic or medical devices organisation, who will have the appropriate experience, expertise and motivation to take the our novel valve through the further development work required together with the necessary regulatory assessments with a view to clinical application of the valve.
